Redhead wedge anchors are steel fasteners which are designed for usage in hardened concrete. The Red Head TRUBOLT wedge anchors are manufactured by Illinois Tool Works are available in a number of sizes and steel types. The installation is not so difficult. First you need to drill a hole into the concrete and Redhead wedge anchors have a minimum recommended depth of embedment that can be found on the manufacturers’ charts for minimum embedment depths. Secondly, clean out the hole and then insert the washer and nut onto the body of the wedge anchor and make sure that the nut is flush with the threaded end of the wedge anchor. Lastly, use the hammer and drive the anchor through the fixture and into the hole in a concrete until the nut and washer contact the surface of fixture. Thus, with a wrench, expand the anchor by turning the nut clock-wise 3-5 turns past the finger tight position or to the specified torque recommendations of the manufacturer.
